View, edit and deactivate clients
Click on the 3 dots adjacent to any client in your Agent dashboard to view the following options. View-Edit-Impersonate-Deactivate.
Editing Client Details
- Select Edit
- Update the fields (name, email, address, phone)
- Click Confirm to save
This is useful when clients change address, email, or phone number, or to correct any data entry errors.
Impersonating a Client
The Impersonate feature lets you log into a client's account to see and manage their records. This is also where the preparation and submission of the tax return happens.
What You Can Do While Impersonating
Review/Categorise and manage the client's recorded transactions
Record transactions directly for the client
See how transaction data filters through to the tax return
Review the client's return as they see it
Submit for Client approval
Submit the tax return on behalf of the client
Export their transactional data and tax return
How to Impersonate
Select Impersonate
A green banner appears at the top saying "You are impersonating [Client Name]"
You now have full access to the client's account
When finished, click Exit view in the green banner to return to your agent view
Why Use It
See exactly what the client sees
Troubleshoot client issues by working through their account
Manage transactions and returns directly when needed
Test workflows or verify client data
Deactivating a Client
Deactivating removes a client from your active dashboard when the relationship ends or they move to another accountant.
Important to Remember
Deactivating is NOT permanent. The client record is simply hidden from your active view. You can reactivate them at any time using filters.
How to Deactivate
Select Deactivate
Confirm the action
The client is removed from your active client list
Reactivating a Deactivated Client
If you need to bring a client back onto your active dashboard:
Expand the filter options on your Agent Dashboard page
Tick the box Show Inactive Clients
Click View Records
Find the deactivated client in the list
Select Reactivate
The client now reappears on your active dashboard.
Key Things to Remember
View – See all client details in read-only mode
- Impersonate – Log into the client's account to manage transactions and returns from their perspective
- Deactivate – Hide the client from your active dashboard (easily reversible)
- Reactivate – Bring a deactivated client back using the "Show Inactive Clients" filter
When to Use Each Feature
The three-dot menu is your main tool for managing client records. Get comfortable with clicking it next to each client to see your options: View, Edit, Impersonate, and Deactivate.
