MTD Submission overview

MTD Submission overview

MTD Submission overview

What is this?

For clients part of MTD you will see a different submission overview within the Tax Submission section compared to the normal SA100 annual submission clients.

How do I use this?

You can access the MTD submission overview by selecting Tax submission from the clients dashboard and select the current MTD tax year you wish to view.

From the MTD submission overview you can view and complete a number of actions from Viewing your clients obligations, sending quarterly submissions, pulling employment data from HMRC and viewing the overall tax return and calculations.

Why would I use this?

View Obligations

Your clients obligations give you an overview of what MTD quarters need to be submitted when and the status of all the quarters for each separate Self-employed or Landlord business. You can also see when your clients annual obligation is due and its current status.

Quarters are also coloured coded so you can easily see their status;

Grey - The quarter is not due yet

Yellow - The quarter is now due

Red - The quarter is overdue

Green - The quarter has been submitted successfully to HMRC

Businesses

This is where your clients businesses are listed and all of the businesses in the list are required to submit a separate quarterly MTD submission, if a business has any allowances or adjustments these will also need to be submitted separately to the Income & Expenses.

Non-Business

This is where the remaining sections of the tax submission not included in MTD can be enabled for the annual tax submission.

The sections of the annual tax submission that can be activated as required are

  • Employments

  • Savings income

  • Dividends income

  • Individual reliefs

  • State benefits

  • Foreign income

To enable any of these sections select the purple cog at the top of the page and check the boxes of any sections you wish to enable, select save and return to the MTD Submission Overview. The sections will now show under Non-Business and can be accessed by expanding the section and selecting view.

Employments

For those part of MTD who also have employment you can easily pull all of the PAYE data in real time directly from HMRC and no longer need to wait for the P60 to be generated.

View Final Submission

The final submission section will update when quarterly submissions are made, PAYE data is pulled from HMRC or non-business values are added.

You will get a breakdown of the current calculations, an estimate of what the end of year calculations may look like based on the figures so far and a full breakdown of what's included in the tax return so far.
