Tailoring the tax return for the first time

Selecting tiles & coverage of SA100 in Standard mode

To simplify the process, you can tailor your clients tax return so that you only see the sections relevant to your client. The tax calculator and return will only include information from the tile sections selected. In standard mode the tile selection includes the standard most common sections used on a tax return. If needed, you can add less common supplementary pages in Expert mode.

You’ll be able to change which sections of the tax return are enabled at any time and can tailor different tax years independently. To personalise your clients return select the ‘Tax Submission’ section and and then the purple tiles and cog. You can select and deselect the tiles to add or remove forms from the submission, select save to ensure the form is updated.

Actions made in Record Keeping do not change the selected forms, this must be done manually. For example assigning bank interest in Record Keeping would require the ‘Other Income’ tile to be selected for it to be included in the tax calculation and tax return.

Expert mode

If you need more than our standard SA100 tiles for your client, switch to expert mode. This will allow you to add the additional full supplementary pages to your clients tax return. Once enabled expert mode cannot be changed back to standard mode. To enable expert mode select the ‘Tax Submission’ section and and then the purple tiles and cog, select the correct tax year from the drop down menu and change the slider on expert mode to on and select confirm then save. When you return to the tax submission the view will be updated to the full supplementary pages.

Viewing selected pages with client overview in ApariPro

After personalising your client's tax return you’ll see the pages selected in the clients Tax Submission section by page. You will also have an overview in your Agent dashboard when viewing your client. This will allow you to see which pages of the return have been populated by you or your client.
